Checking in together
Put a QR code on the board and watch the class check in, live and anonymous.
Check in together turns the daily check-in into a short class moment. You put a QR code on the board, students check in from their phones, and the board fills in as they do. It shows colours and a count, never names.
Running one
- Open it from Today
Choose Check in together, next to New assignment.
- Go full screen
Put it on the projector with Full screen. The board shows "How are you, really?", a large QR code, and three simple steps.
- Students scan and check in
The QR code opens the check-in on their phone. They pick a mood, add a private note if they like, and they are done.
- Watch the board fill in
A big count, for example 18 of 24 checked in today, and one dot per student. Each dot takes the colour of a mood as students check in, with a bar of the class mood underneath. It refreshes every few seconds.
Keeping it anonymous
- No names, no notes. The board only ever shows colours and a count.
- No arrival order. Dots are sorted from the least to the most pleasant mood, not by who checked in when, and updates arrive in small batches. A new dot cannot be matched to the person who just put their phone down.
- Count only. Turn it on to hide the colours completely and show just how many have checked in. Useful for small classes, or on a difficult day.
The board counts everyone who has checked in today, including before the lesson. A student who scans the code after checking in sees that they are already on the board. There is still only one check-in a day, so streaks and XP stay honest.
