Today

How the room feels right now, who checked in, and the few things worth your attention.

Today is your home page. It reads the class for you in plain sentences, so a minute each morning tells you how the room is and who might need you.

When a student asks to talk

If a student has used Want to talk to someone?, their request is pinned near the top of Today: their name, how soon they would like to talk, and their words if they added any. You are also emailed straight away. Once you have dealt with it, tap Talked with them, Arranged a time or Passed to the counselor. More about talk requests.

From top to bottom

  1. The headline

One sentence about the class right now, such as The room is mostly settled or It has been a heavy week for a lot of them, and how many students could use a closer look.

  2. Checked in today

How many students have checked in so far, and the share who checked in at least once this week.

  3. Class weather

Each dot is a student, placed by how pleasant and how energized their latest check-in felt. The four corners read tense, bright, low and settled.

  4. Worth a closer look

Students whose check-ins form a pattern, each with the reason in words, for example Their last three check-ins were all anxious or down, or Has not checked in yet this week, and their last seven days as a strip of colour.

  5. The week so far

The class mood for each day. Empty space at the top of a bar is students who did not check in.

  6. Assignments in flight

Your newest assignments with live response counts, and how many answers came in late.

  7. Last four weeks

How the share of pleasant check-ins has moved, with a reading of what it might mean.

  8. Class leaderboard and recent flags

Who is putting in the effort, ranked by effort and never by mood, and the latest flags waiting in Responses.

It keeps itself up to date

Today updates every time a student checks in or hands something in. There is nothing to refresh by hand.

Checking in together

The Check in together button at the top opens a projector view with a QR code, so the class can check in at the same time. How it works.
