Answer the questions students would never ask out loud, for the whole class.
The questions students would never ask out loud. You see the question, never the name, and your answer goes to the whole class.
Answering
Questions arrive under To answer, and a dot appears next to Questions in the sidebar. Choose Answer, write it as you would say it to the class, and choose Answer for the class. The question and your answer then appear on every student’s Questions page, with no names.
- Set aside keeps a question out of the class feed. It stays in your list, and you can move it back.
- Edit answer changes an answer you already gave.
Safety
Every question goes through the same safety review as written answers.
- A flagged question shows its severity and the reason.
- If the review finds a possible risk (high severity), the student’s name is shown to you and you are emailed straight away, so you can follow up in person. Students are told about this before they ask.
A tip
Students often ask more after a lesson on a sensitive topic. Mentioning that the box exists is usually enough.
